Living out our spirituality
Our Spirituality is Eucharistic. We share thus the sentiments of Christ when He gave us the Eucharist (Eucharistia meaning thanksgiving). The spirit of thanksgiving to God therefore permeates our daily living. This we try to make concrete in our day-to-day living by bearing witness to the Eucharistic Lord who in all things gave thanks.
The good God continues to bless our Institute with vocations.
Initial and On-going formation
Our founder insisted that we take the period of formation very seriously. In one of his letters, he said, “if we are to have good African religious, they need a long solid training in obedience, humility and love of God, not in a lot of activities.” In another letter he made it clear that though he was “not despising numbers,” we have to “insist on quality, not numbers.” The Novitiate period is a period of learning, prayer, and recollection. The Novices are taught to gradually imbibe the spirit of our Institute.
We the Sisters of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus are a Religious congregation of women whose dedication to the love and service of God and our fellow men and women takes special inspiration from the Eucharistic Heart of Christ. The love of His Sacred Heart moved Him to give us the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
